Around 100,000 refugees from Congo and other countries live in Nakivale, Uganda. The support these refugees receive is not enough to feed them every day. The idea is that they should become self-sufficient — but that is extremely difficult if you are an orphan, or if your parents have no real qualifications. Many are illiterate. If children cannot go to school due to lack of money, those children will become tomorrow's struggling parents.
Jack W. Jensen has travelled with Serving The Nations Mission to Nakivale and seen the work firsthand. That is why Allegro IT ApS supports and recommends this initiative to anyone who wants to be part of the solution.
What does it cost to sponsor a child?
Serving The Nations Mission is based in Kirinya-Bweyogere in Kampala, Uganda, and works to the motto "Small enough to know you, Big enough to serve you" — the organisation is small enough that the money can be followed all the way down to the individual child.
- DKK 200–250 per month per child, depending on the child's age and situation.
- The amount covers food, clothing and schooling — both day-to-day provision and the education that eventually breaks the pattern.
- Gifts are tax-deductible under Danish rules if you supply your CPR number.
- You can pay via MobilePay on 606580 or online, and one-off donations are accepted too if a fixed monthly sponsorship does not suit you.
The mission publishes a page listing the children currently without a sponsor — name, age and background — so you know exactly who you are supporting.
